FOH Floor Manager

Summary of Position: The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing service throughout the building and managing Front of House staff at Nitehawk Cinema. The Floor Manager will communicate with all departments as necessary to achieve service goals, while cultivating relationships with guests and staff to ensure an organized-high level of service for all guests coming into Nitehawk. The Floor Manager will work alongside other management teams to further develop Nitehawk Cinema as the premier dinner and movie destination in NYC.

General Job Duties & Responsibilities: Daily and weekly expectations determined by the AORs (Areas of Responsibilities). Updates to this may be determined by manager team availability and daily schedule. Be present and positive, while being passionately productive and a problem solver. Show initiative and follow through.

Areas of Responsibilities Include: Prepare new hire reviews and annual reviews, and conduct these reviews. FOH schedule writing and assistance.

Prepare the weekly FOH first-run movie specials sheet for staff. Maintain Lost & Found. Nitehawk Merchandise management/ inventory.

Participate in interviews and the hiring process for incoming servers and runners.

Seasonal and weekly menu changes. Contribute and participate in all FOH staff meetings.

Communicate FOH issues and updates with the management team. Follow up with staff on issues, document issues in personnel files, and issue written and/or verbal warning when necessary.

Floor Management Responsibilities:
Lead and coach FOH staff to consistently deliver great service and an exemplary guest experience.

Communicate to FOH staff all theater changes, schedule/ theater updates, and menu updates as needed.

Ensure a welcoming environment for guests and provide efficient, and courteous service at all times.

Anticipate and handle guest needs by checking in on theaters and staff working throughout the shift. Enforce Nitehawk’s guest policies and handle disruptive guests as needed.

Work with Projection, Cinema, Events, Chefs, and kitchen staff on communication needed for smooth service by conducting daily pre-shifts with staff.

Review event memos and prepare FOH staff. Work with the Event Manager by managing events and communicating event requirements to staff on shift.

Check Nitehawk’s Info-mail during the shift and respond to general questions in a timely manner.

Work with all managers to maintain a clean, safe, and DOH compliant facility.

Responsible for closing shifts, which includes tip pool entries, deposits, bank change, blog entries, and reports.

Provide movie, food, and beverage product information to employees and guests, and answer any questions with courtesy and respect.

Adhere to all cash handling, cash management, and cash register policies set forth by Nitehawk Cinema’s operational policies procedures and ensure proper cash management practices are followed.

Operate Nitehawk Cinema on a daily basis with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion and courtesy. Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and operations related to both restaurant and cinema space. All HR issues or concerns must be reported to the GM and Director of Operations or to ADP.

NYC Food Handlers/ Food Protection Certification, FDNY Fire Guard (F-01 and F-03) Certificate, TIPS certification (if you do not hold any of these certifications at hiring, you must receive certifications within 30 days of accepting the position).
Must maintain good hygiene, clean outfits, and maintain a professional image set forth by Nitehawk Cinema while on shift.
Must have the ability to work on your feet for long periods of time, carry and lift items up to 50 lbs. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift items and go up and down stairs repeatedly.

Status: Non-exempt/ Full-Time Position/ Reports directly to: General Manager and Director of Operations.
Compensation: $28-$30/hr
