Location: Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY 11201 Position Type: Full Time Head Cookie decorator/ Assistant Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Company Overview: Funny Face Bakery is a fast-growing, pop culture-inspired cookie company known for our detailed, hand-decorated cookies. We are seeking a full time decorators and artistically inclined individuals to join our creative team. Our cookie designs are recognized for their precision, clean line work, and character. Additionally we are looking for someone who can lead in helping out and assisting the artist manager in extra tasks. Position Summary: As Head decorator, you will be responsible for reproducing illustrated designs onto cookies using piping techniques. You will work under the guidance of the Artist Manager to maintain artistic consistency and quality. Helping with any extra task Ex. quality control, training,or managing orders as a part of the artist managers cover while they are out. Key Responsibilities: ● Use icing bags to accurately replicate illustrated images with clean lines and detail. ● Follow direction from the Artist Manager to meet visual and quality standards. ● Over seeing the decorators everyday between 4-5pm. ● Quality control and helping out artists during busy seasons. ● Assisting in training or other tasks If the manager is backed up. ● Covering for Artist manager when they are not in, sick or on vacation. ● Managing your time effectively to meet daily production goals. Qualifications: ● Availability full time monday through friday , 9am -5 pm ● Strong attention to detail and a steady hand. ● Experience in the field ex. Pastry school and/or pastry decorating work. ● Ability to work efficiently and maintain consistency under time constraints. ● Can multi task and instruct individuals ● High school diploma or equivalent (required) ● Food Handler license is a plus Interview Process: You will be interviewed by the artist manager about your relevant work and/or school history. Applicants invited to interview will also be asked to demonstrate basic piping using an icing bag. You will be given a sample design sheet to complete, which will help assess your Skill. Optional: You are encouraged (but not required) to include examples of your work or portfolio with your application. Any type of food decorating would be acceptable.
