About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Elevator Technician / Mechanic to handle maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across more than 15 elevators — including both residential building elevators and car elevators — located throughout Brooklyn, NYC.
This is a hands-on position for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who can work independently and ensure all elevators remain in top working condition.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and safety inspections on residential and car elevators
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Handle on-call or emergency elevator breakdowns and repairs
- Ensure compliance with NYC DOB and FDNY elevator regulations
- Keep detailed maintenance logs and communicate status updates
- Coordinate with property management on schedules and needed parts
- Perform upgrades, replacements, and adjustments to elevator systems
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with residential or car elevators (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of NYC elevator codes and inspection standards
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Must have own basic tools; specialty tools provided
- Driver’s license preferred (for travel between sites)
