We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Knife Sharpening Technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in sharpening various types of knives and blades using manual and mechanical techniques while ensuring high-quality results and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sharpen, hone, and restore knives and cutting tools to optimal performance
Inspect and assess blade condition to determine the appropriate sharpening method
Operate and maintain sharpening equipment, including belt grinders, whetstones, and honing tools
Ensure consistency in edge angles and blade finishes
Clean and package knives post-service for customer delivery
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements:
Proficient with manual and electric sharpening tools and techniques
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Basic mechanical skills and understanding of blade metallurgy
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Commitment to workplace safety and quality service
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience sharpening specialized blades (e.g., chef’s knives, industrial blades, scissors)
Familiarity with inventory tracking or service management systems
