General Manager - High Volume Neighborhood Italian Restaurant

Pasta Louise is a busy, community-driven Italian restaurant built on warm hospitality, consistency, and strong leadership. We’re looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our Front of House team and take real ownership of daily operations.
This is a hands-on role for someone who lives on the floor, leads by example, and believes great service comes from preparation, accountability, and care for the team.
THE ROLE
Lead and manage all FOH staff, including Captains, Hosts, and Assistant GM
Recruit, hire, onboard, and train FOH team members
Build schedules in Homebase and actively manage labor shift-by-shift
Handle call-outs, coverage, and staffing adjustments in real time
Own the flow of service and solve problems as they arise
Train and oversee Host team to maximize covers and efficiency
Maintain NYC DOH compliance and an “A” grade
Lead weekly Captain meetings and participate in management meetings
Collaborate closely with kitchen leadership on menus, specials, and training
Maintain RESY floor plans and Square POS updates
Oversee opening/closing procedures and deep cleaning standards
Manage FOH payroll review, tips, PTO tracking, and admin
Order FOH supplies and coordinate vendors and service techs
Respond to guest emails, reviews, and messages professionally and promptly
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Maintain healthy FOH labor percentages through smart scheduling
Track sales and identify opportunities to improve performance
Ensure invoices are submitted on time and costs are controlled
YOU SHOULD HAVE
Proven GM or senior FOH leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant
Strong labor management and scheduling skills
Calm, confident floor presence
Excellent communication and organization
A hospitality-first mindset and respect for both FOH and BOH
EXPECTATIONS
Weekend availability is required
Minimum 50 hours/week on site
Responsiveness to staffing and operational issues outside of service hours
This is a leadership role with real responsibility and impact

Compensation: $80-$85K Annually
