Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co. was built by a team of 5th generation Fishmongers who carry a philosophy of balance by providing clean, high quality and sustainable seafood to friends and neighbors of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Starting back in 2014, the demand has since grown and products can now be found anywhere from the kitchen’s of local fish-loving friends to the counters of Michelin Star Chefs. We are currently looking for passionate individuals who want to grow with us!
A career as a Fishmonger is very enlightening. They carry out a wealth of different tasks and develop a multitude of different skills and knowledge. Fishmongers are the face of the seafood industry, interacting with consumers, answering any questions they have, and helping them to make educated decisions on which fish they purchase.
Hours allow for an easy work/life balance. A great position for individuals who have an interest in learning about sustainable seafood and the various techniques needed to process and/or produce their products. In addition, they will be able to cut, prepare, package and present fish and shellfish products to the highest of standards. Experience working with fish and or seafood is required. Hours vary, with an opportunity to start part time and move into full time.
The market is open from 12PM to 7PM everyday. Fishmonger is a tipped position expected to make between $25-$30hr depending on daily volume.
