HELPER DISTRIBUTION I (Brooklyn, NY)
Starting Pay: $23.15/hr.
Job Duties:
• Perform traffic control and flagging duties
• Perform manual labor including digging, backfilling, breaking, and removing asphalt and concrete
• Assist with setup and operation of underground and pneumatic tools
• Provide physical support to higher‑classified personnel performing construction and utility work
• Perform strenuous physical activities throughout the workday, including squatting, walking, lifting tools, and handling materials weighing over 80 lbs
• Perform similar or less‑skilled work as assigned
• Maintain safe work practices while working in active construction and utility environments
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of similar or related work experience
• Plumbing experience preferred
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform strenuous physical work
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a Field Assessment Test
• Ability to demonstrate aptitude to progress into higher classifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license if hired
• Ability to successfully complete required training programs, including safety, traffic control, equipment, and regulatory training
• Ability to comply with DOT safety‑sensitive transportation regulations
