About Sereneco
Based in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Sereneco is an all-day New American Restaurant in a light-filled, welcoming spac We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a barista. You must be available for a minimum of 3 days from Sunday-Wednesday to be considered for this position. PLEASE REPLY WITH YOUR AVAILABILITY.
Position Summary
The barista is responsible for preparing a variety of coffee beverages, as well as reselling various hot and cold beverages. The barista will also serve baked goods and other brunch menu items.
This position requires heavy customer contact and excellent service skills. Positive attitude is required at all times in order to ensure the return of our customers who are the focus of our business. Cleanliness and strong organizational skills are required. We are a full service restaurant and the barista is responsible for making cocktails and serving customers at the bar in addition to making coffee drinks so experience with some bartending and/or serving is a plus.
This position requires opening the restaurant 3-4 days per week and working independently for 2+ hours to start the day.
The schedule for this position will be:
7:15am-3:30/4pm.
Additional Responsibilities
- Making cocktails when there is no bartender
- Serving customers at the bar
- Prepare hot and cold coffee beverages
- Set up and sell baked goods and brunch menu items
- Accurately handle cash and reconcile change due to customers
- Serve customers full-service and takeout brunch
- Complete weekly side-work and cleaning, as determined by management
Qualifications
- 3+ years working in specialty coffee
- Team Player
- Clean and Organized
- Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items
- Ability to learn and use company computer systems (Toast)
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Experience serving and/or bartending is a plus
- NYC food handler’s card
