Human Resource Benefits Specialist
Position Details:
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: $33.00 – $37.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and communicate benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, disability, FMLA, FSA, Workers’ Compensation, and life insurance
Process and track Workers’ Compensation, disability, FMLA, and leave of absence claims
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and city labor laws
Maintain OSHA compliance by recording and monitoring workplace injuries
Coordinate and manage the open enrollment process
Respond to employee inquiries and resolve benefits-related issues
Act as liaison between employees, insurance carriers, and union representatives
Process claims in accordance with provider contracts
Maintain and file medical documentation (physicals, PPDs, etc.)
Prepare HR-related purchase orders (e.g., reimbursements)
Perform additional duties as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
3–5 years of experience in benefits administration
Knowledge of employment laws, policies, and procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Valid driver’s license required
