Position Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated Pastry Cook to join our team across a dynamic multi-format hospitality operation comprising a vegan cafe, a full-service vegan restaurant, and a dedicated events program. This position requires an individual who is self-directed, highly organised, and capable of managing competing production demands with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute daily pastry and baked goods production for the vegan cafe, maintaining consistent quality and output standards.
• Prepare and plate desserts for the vegan restaurant, with attention to plant-based technique, flavour integrity, and presentation.
• Support event-based pastry production including catering, functions, and private dining, in line with event briefs and service schedules.
• Manage mise en place, section organisation, and prep schedules independently across all three formats.
• Maintain rigorous food safety, labelling, and storage standards at all times.
• Communicate proactively with kitchen leadership regarding production timelines, stock requirements, and any service-impacting issues.
• Contribute to specials and seasonal menu development on an occasional basis.
Skills and Requirements
• Demonstrated experience in pastry production within a professional kitchen environment.
• Solid technical foundation across laminated doughs, confectionery, and plant-based dessert preparation.
• Genuine competency in and commitment to vegan and plant-based culinary technique.
• Proven ability to self-manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet production deadlines without direct supervision.
• Strong time management and organisational skills; able to operate efficiently across multiple service windows and venue formats.
• Clear and professional communication style; responsive to direction and proactive in escalating issues.
• High standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety compliance, and section cleanliness.

Remuneration
