I'm looking for part-time help to keep telos in shape across its dual life: events by night and weekend, coworking by day. This role has two sides, and I'm open to hiring one person for both or two people who each cover part.
Space manager (weekday-friendly): The main work is prepping the space for events and returning it to coworking-ready condition before the work week begins (Monday at 9am). Beyond resets, you'll help keep the space in good repair: patching walls, tightening hardware, small carpentry, general upkeep. If your availability is mostly daytime or weekdays, this is likely the better fit.
Venue manager (weekend availability required): Everything above, plus serving as on-site venue representative during events. That means welcoming renters, walking them through the space, being the point of contact if anything comes up during the event, and closing down at the end of the night. Events run Friday through Sunday, mostly evenings. If you have solid weekend availability, this is the fuller version of the role.
Either version starts at approximately 10 hours per week. The ideal candidate will prove themselves quickly and expand to 20-30 hours per week.
Rolling deadline: I'm hoping to hire someone who can overlap with our current space manager before mid-August.
Duties
• Prep the space for events (raves, parties, workshops, and more) and return it to coworking setup before Monday
• Handle small repairs and improvements around the space
• Occasionally help with build-outs and larger projects
• (Venue manager only) Serve as on-site venue representative during select events: welcoming clients, answering questions, and closing down at the end of the night
Must-haves
• Highly organized and not afraid to get dirty
• Handy: comfortable with power tools, ripping a sheet of plywood, patching drywall, and similar
• Detail-oriented with a sharp eye. No detail is too small to catch, and everything deserves to be cared for, even in a warehouse that sees a lot of wear and tear
• Responsible; takes ownership of your work
• Communicates thoroughly and well
• (Venue manager only) Warm and composed with clients. Comfortable being the face of telos during an event
Nice-to-haves
• Previous renovation or carpentry experience
• Previous hospitality, events, or client-facing experience
• Interest in architecture, design, and craft
• Interest in tending to our rooftop vegetable garden
Perks
• Access to telos events
• Time spent in a space with real artistic legacy
To apply, send a short note about yourself, your general availability, and any relevant experience. Let me know which side of the role you're interested in (or both). No formal cover letter or resume required.
