Campbell & Co. is a neighborhood-focused café and grocery with outposts in both Williamsburg and Greenpoint. We are looking for a dependable, veteran Line Cook to join our crew. The Steward/Receiver ensures a hygienic, well-stocked, and organized BOH & FOH environment and is responsible for receiving paper goods, cleaning supplies, as well as food and other pantry products. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the Steward program, maintaining clean and pest-free premises and adhering to NYC Department of Health rules. They support the overall Campbell kitchen and catering team operations and help foster a positive work environment. This is a full-time position; candidates must be available both Saturdays and Sundays.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work a flexible and variable schedule, including early mornings, weekends and holidays, across both our Williamsburg and Greenpoint locations. Weekend availability is required (both Saturdays and Sundays).
- Capable of excelling within high-pressure environments during peak service times and catering production.
- Capable of meeting strict deadlines through collaborative teamwork and individual initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and complete daily prep tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions.
- Must hold a NY Food Protection Certificate (DOH card) - or be willing to get one within 3 months of new role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
-Keep the location operating efficiently and smoothly by addressing issues promptly and maintaining strong performance standards.
-Properly FIFO (first in, first out) and make sure all kitchen ingredients are stored properly and up to DOH/DOA standards.
- Maintain an immaculate space, including kitchen, front-of-house, basement and outside areas.

- Daily organization, consolidation and cleanliness of the walk-in, pantry, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and FOH areas.
- Complete all weekly inventories including papers goods, kitchen items, etc.
- Use checklists to handle receiving, organization and other tasks.
- Assist management with maintenance of all walk-ins, refrigerators, pantry shelves, utility sink room, storage areas, and other areas to DOH guidelines.
- Oversee FOH cleanliness, including the barista area.
- Oversee monthly maintenance projects (e.g. Slushie machine cleaning, AC unit vacuuming, window cleaning, etc.)
- Other Ad hoc projects as appropriate.
Compensation:
Hourly wage: $18
