Diamond Slice is looking for a friendly, reliable counter person to join our front-of-house team.
We are a busy neighborhood pizzeria focused on quality, consistency, and craft. We make 20-inch New York-style pies with long-fermented dough, freshly milled flour, and sauces made from scratch. We take our pizza seriously, but we want the atmosphere to feel warm, welcoming, and natural.
Compensation
$16–$17 per hour, depending on experience, plus pooled tips.
Tips can be very strong and may add up to approximately $15 per hour during higher-volume shifts. Tip earnings vary based on sales, staffing, and hours worked.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
- Take counter, phone, and online orders accurately
- Learn the menu and confidently answer questions about ingredients
- Reheat and serve slices according to our quality standards
- Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and inventory of the slice case
- Call out and hand off orders
- Restock drinks, napkins, boxes, and other front-of-house supplies
- Keep the counter, dining area, bathroom, and guest areas clean and organized
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen during busy service
- Help with opening, closing, and general side work
- Stay active and find productive tasks during slower periods

- Able to move quickly and stay organized during busy shifts

- Willing to clean, restock, and help wherever needed
- Able to work as part of a team without needing constant direction
- Available for evenings and weekends
- Restaurant, cashier, counter-service, or customer-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred; anyone without one must begin the certification process within 30 days of starting. Diamond Slice will cover the cost.
