Responsibilities:
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively.
Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with Dentrix accurately, documenting all patient interactions and treatment details.
Maintain infection prevention standards by following strict aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
Monitor patient vital signs and assess overall health status as part of comprehensive patient care.
Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and materials for various procedures.
Ensure compliance with all medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management requirements for accurate billing and legal purposes.
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
