We are seeking a dependable, outgoing, and proactive Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and is interested in learning more about wine, spirits, retail operations, and small-business management.
Previous wine and spirits experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to educate the right candidate who brings curiosity, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a reliable work ethic.
What You’ll Do
Customer Service and Sales
Welcome customers and help them select wines and spirits based on their tastes, needs, and budgets
Handle in-store, telephone, and online orders
Prepare pickup and delivery orders accurately
Record useful customer preferences and feedback
Make thoughtful recommendations and identify additional sales opportunities
Write clear and engaging product descriptions for in-store and online marketing
Inventory and Store Operations
Receive, verify, and properly store incoming deliveries
Restock merchandise proactively and keep displays organized
Help maintain accurate inventory and reconcile weekly inventory reports
Provide feedback on products that should be reordered, promoted, discounted, or discontinued
Assist with organizing and maintaining the store’s cellar and storage areas
Perform routine store upkeep, including removing trash, dusting, mopping, and maintaining a clean sales floor
Tastings, Events, and Marketing
Help coordinate in-store wine and spirits tastings
Assist distributor and supplier representatives during events
Promote events through in-store and online channels
Engage attendees, make product recommendations, and help convert tastings into sales
Support additional community events and marketing initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Excellent customer-service and communication skills
Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
A proactive, team-oriented approach
Interest in wine, spirits, hospitality, and small-business operations
Ability to receive feedback, apply it, and continue developing
Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling orders and inventory
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds repeatedly and carry products up and down stairs
Availability to work [evenings/weekends/holidays, as applicable]
