We are seeking an organized, hands-on, and service-driven Assistant Restaurant Manager to work directly with ownership/leadership in overseeing the daily operations of a growing Brooklyn hospitality company. Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
Open and close the restaurant as scheduled.
Ensure all departments are fully prepared prior to service- FOH, BOH, Catering and Delivery.
Maintain exceptional standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and ambiance.
Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with vendors, contractors, and ownership.
Ensure opening, closing, and operational checklists are completed consistently.
Assist ownership with administrative and back-office tasks, including payroll support and reporting.
Team Leadership
Supervise and support full staff- FOH and BOH.
Serve as a communication link between staff and ownership.
Assign daily responsibilities and verify completion.
Hold team members accountable to company standards.
Foster a positive, professional, and respectful workplace culture.
Scheduling & Administration
Create and maintain employee schedules.
Review timecards and assist with payroll preparation.
Support onboarding and personnel record management.
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and training new team members.
Track attendance, punctuality, and employee performance.
Assist ownership with employee relations and HR-related communications.
Business Operations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Help implement new operational procedures and systems.
Prepare reports regarding staffing, operations, and guest feedback.
Assist with social media and local marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with:
Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience in hospitality, restaurants, or retail.
Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience (required).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Experience creating employee schedules.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and hospitality software- Toast (POS), PayCom, BlackBird, Grubhub/Seamless.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Experience with payroll systems, HR administration, scheduling platforms, or restaurant management software is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
